Disney fires Marvel Entertainment chairman Ike Perlmutter due to major reshuffle

Isaac “Ike” Perlmutter, who was chairman and CEO of Marvel Entertainment – a separate entity from Marvel Studios – has been fired from Disney. The newspaper “New York Times.

It is reported that Marvel Entertainment, which is mainly focused on consumer products, will be merged with other divisions of the company. IGN has reached out to Disney for comment.

The move comes just two days after Disney CEO Bob Iger announced it was laying off 7,000 people as part of a “strategic reorganization of the company,” he said in an email to employees obtained by IGN.

Perlmutter’s work at Marvel Entertainment has often been controversial, as the executive recently tried and failed to shake up the Disney board. He took over Marvel Entertainment in the late 90s and was largely behind its $4 billion sale to Disney in 2009.

Perlmutter is also known to have clashed with Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, to the point where Iger recently commented that he had to step in and stop him from firing Feige in 2015. That same year, Perlmutter lost all creative control over Marvel’s film department.

“And in 2015, he was going to fire Kevin Feige, who was running Marvel Studios… and I thought it was a mistake and intervened to prevent that from happening,” Iger said in an interview with the publication. CNBC.

Feige has previously spoken about Perlmutter resisting diversity efforts in the MCU, and Iger wrote in his book The Ride of a Lifetime that Perlmutter continued to put obstacles in the way of films like Black Panther and Captain Marvel.

Apple’s latest Mac mini remains a popular item, but you can still save some money. Amazon sells the M2 Pro Mac mini again at a better price from 1249 USD, or $50. That’s a modest discount, but Amazon’s tiny but powerful desktop has rarely been discounted in any form. You can spend the money you save on a mouse, keyboard, or other essential peripherals.

The Mac mini M2 Pro version is a great machine that fills a typically empty space in Apple’s lineup – it’s a powerful yet relatively affordable “headless” desktop. The system is fast enough to handle serious media editing and multitasking tasks while still giving you the freedom to choose your own monitor. Add to that an abundance of ports and near-silent operation (even under stress) and this could be your ideal machine if you need customization flexibility.

This high-end Mac mini is still expensive, and you won’t find front ports or an SD card reader like the Mac Studio. And for many, this can be overkill – the standard M2 is often enough for everyday use, and it costs hundreds of dollars less. However, if you’re craving performance or extra ports, the M2 Pro version is a great machine that won’t take up much space on your desk.
