Nintendo confirms it won’t be at E3 2023

This year, Nintendo is skipping the Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3. The Switch maker confirmed on Friday that it will not participate in the gaming convention, which returning this summer after canceling in 2022.

“We approach our participation in any event on a case-by-case basis and always consider different ways to interact with our fans,” a Nintendo spokesperson told CNET via email. “Because this year’s E3 exhibition did not fit into our plans, we have decided not to participate. However, we have been and remain strong supporters of ESA and E3.”

Given that Nintendo has backed out of the deal in recent years, the move isn’t all that surprising. Nintendo stopped holding special press conferences after the 2012 expo, instead holding a digital-only Nintendo Direct.

Last month, IGN reported that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo skipped the event and will not be present on the show floor. Microsoft is expected host your own Xbox demo event in Los Angeles this summer.

E3 2023 is scheduled for June 13-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The gaming convention was canceled in 2020 and held as a digital event in 2021 due to the pandemic. It was expected to return in 2022 but was eventually canceled again.

Sean Keane of CNET contributed to this report.

$199.99 B&O Beoplay Portal XBOX Headset at Amazon – Video Game Deals

Published

It has an MSRP of 499.99, which isn’t really a big deal because it was never worth it, but it also doubles as a Bluetooth noise canceling headset, which isn’t bad for the price.

Whatever it is, I bought it for 249.99 about 1.5 years ago and I like it because of my X series. It’s much better than other first person headsets and sounds decent.
